#2: Peace and Quiet
I grew up outside of the city.
I well remember being thrilled at the wind rushing through the treetops. We had massive cedars and fir, and they were taller than our house. That sound of the trees creaking and the rushing sound that was akin to water in a river. Bird song early in the morning.
The distant ferry horn blasting far down in the Bay and the boom boom boom of cars loading onto the ferry. Seagulls. A lot of sound but still firmly within the Peace and Quiet category. Long before leaf blowers and power mowers and power washers.
Quiet is a blessed thing.
