Frances E. Vail

Before she could write, Fran Vail could draw. As a child she spent many hours with a pencil in hand, practicing what would become her life’s passion. Though she has been an artist for 50 years, for the past 25 years, she has shared her love for art through teaching, illustrating, and creating unique commissioned pieces.

Throughout her artistic career, Fran has worked in various mediums, including: watercolor, oil, pastel, acrylic, and ink. Her love for conveying image through form is unparalleled, and in addition to fine art, it has included murals, architectural renderings, and fashion illustration, to name a few. To continually hone her painting and teaching skills, Fran has studied with many renowned artists, including Peggy McNamara, Richard Halsted, Craig Blietz and Julian Merrow-Smith.

When not painting, Fran enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, or attending art workshops in her beloved France.
