Tip #3: Experience the Outdoors

Before starting to write, step outside for a moment. Feel your feet on the ground.

Look around and notice what you see (a tree in your backyard or a skyscraper next door), what you hear (bird song or traffic), what you feel (the sun’s warmth or cool raindrop sprinkles). Look up to the sky and remember how vast our universe is.

Take a deep breath in and out.

Return to your writing space and begin to write.
