This month’s full moon will occur on July 13, 2022. According to NASA: “Since this is less than 10 hours after perigee, this will be a supermoon.” Colloquially, this moon is known as The Buck Supermoon, referencing the fact that it orbits closer to Earth than any other full Moon in the year, which makes it the biggest and brightest supermoon of 2022. But why “Buck”?
Because the full moon in July coincides with male deer (bucks) growing their antlers. July is when they are in full-growth mode. (citation)
Energetically and spiritually, every full moon brings a lot to the table. I have always considered it to be a time of great change, as we can align with the moon’s energy and use it to help us release that which no longer serves us.
Practicing a Full Moon Invocation for Release is always a good idea. It can help you ground more deeply into your inner knowing, allowing you to find more freedom through the additional space it creates in your body, your mind, and your spirit.
One of my favorite things to do is to explore others’ wisdom and guidance to help me fine-tune my own practice. Below, I have compiled a few messages surrounding this buck supermoon that I thought you might like. Additionally, there’s nothing like a photograph to capture the essence of a moment. If you want to see some excellent photos of bucks in nature, Max Ellis (@junkyardmax) has one of the BEST Instagram accounts I’ve seen. His ability to capture the essence of the deer in its surroundings is extraordinary.
The buck moon calls for change and expects us to listen with our hearts more than our heads. (citation)
Therefore, the buck moon spiritual meaning says that all your heart desires are coming to pass, and you are going to reap the full reward of your hard work. (citation)
While the days are long, the nights are short, which makes the Buck Moon’s spiritual meaning all the more magical. Beneath the glow of July’s Full Buck Moon, you feel centered, grounded, and replenished. Ready to bring your dreams and intentions to fruition. The July Full Buck Moon’s spiritual meaning and name are attributed to the male deer, known as a buck. By late July, the velvety rack of a buck is forming into impressive antlers. This is seen as a symbol of fertility and it’s truly a magnificent sight to behold! (citation)
